- The Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games and won the 2017 World Series. Minutes after the game, Astros shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to his girlfriend, Miss Texas USA Daniella Rodriguez. She said yes.
The Houston Astros are World Series champions, taking home their first title in franchise history Wednesday night after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in seven games.
While there were many exciting moments on the field, for Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, the most nerve-wracking moment of the night didn’t come until after the game. During an interview with Ken Rosenthal of Fox, Correa was asked what it felt like to get the win.
“It’s one of the biggest accomplishments in my life,” Correa said. “And right now I’m about to take another big step in my life.”
He got down on one knee and popped the question to his girlfriend, Daniella Rodriguez, the 2016 Miss Texas USA, who was standing nearby with a crowd of spectators.
She happily said yes.
It looks as if Correa will be getting not one but two rings in the near future.
