Johor Princess to marry Dutchman next month

Wedding bells are ringing for Johor Princess Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim.

The 31-year-old will marry Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, 28, a former semi-professional footballer who also worked for the Tampines Rovers Football Club as marketing manager, local media has reported.

Born Dennis Verbaas in a town near Amsterdam in Holland, the Dutchman converted to Islam in 2015, The Straits Times reported.

According to The Star, President of the state Royal Council, Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli, announced the marriage on Sunday, adding that Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah have given the couple their blessings.

The betrothal and solemnisation ceremonies will be held on Aug 14.

A bersanding ceremony will be held on the same day at the throne room of the Istana Besar.

The Princess is Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith’s only daughter. She is the second child out of six children.
