Johor Bahru just upped its game when it comes to retail options, giving both residents there as well as Singaporeans, a new reason to rejoice.
Paradigm Mall JB, touted as the largest shopping mall in the state of Johor at 2 million sq ft, opened its doors on Tuesday (Nov 28) offering more than 500 retail outlets spread over six floors including well-known brands like Uniqlo, Toys R Us, H&M and Under Armour.
It is bigger than Singapore’s VivoCity which has a gross floor area of 1.5 million sq ft.
The mall is located along Skudai Highway and is just 10 minutes away from Johor Bahru’s city centre and a 20-minute drive from the Causeway.
It is also the home of many firsts for Johor: It has the state’s first ice skating rink, indoor climbing gym and a premium supermarket Village Grocer.
It also has Johor’s largest movie theatre operated by Golden Screen Cinemas with 16 screens.
Department store operator Parkson is the mall’s anchor tenant, taking up 200,000 sq ft of space. It is Parkson’s first regional outlet in the southern part of Peninsula Malaysia.
The integrated complex is also home to a 24-storey serviced apartment tower and a 296-room four-star hotel.
The mall is owned and developed by WCT Holdings which also operates a Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya.
