Police in London are investigating an allegation of sexual assault against Kevin Spacey.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s child abuse and sexual offences opened the probe after an allegation was made on Wednesday, initially to another force.
According to The Sun, the alleged victim woke up to Spacey sexually assaulting him in the American actor’s home in 2008. Spacey reportedly invited the unnamed man, who was 23 at the time, for a drink the night before.
At the time Kevin Spacey was artistic director of the prestigious Old Vic theatre, a post he held until 2015.
As the alleged victim left the house, Spacey reportedly told him: “Don’t tell anyone about this.”
A spokesman for the Met told Business Insider: “It is alleged a man assaulted another man in 2008 in Lambeth.”

The wave of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Spacey came to light after child actor Anthony Rapp accused the “American Beauty” star of making a sexual advance on him when Rapp was 14, as reported by BuzzFeed. The complainant is the fourteenth person to accuse Spacey of mistreating him.
Spacey was awarded an honorary knighthood in Britain two years ago for his contributions to British theatre.
The actor was dropped by his agent and publicist on Thursday after CNN reported that he sexually assaulted eight current and former employees of “House of Cards,” the award-winning Netflix show where he is a producer and actor.
He is currently said to be seeking “evaluation and treatment.”
The level of sexual harassment and assault accusations against powerful figures in Hollywood came after The New York Times published a report outlining multiple allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein. London police are also investigating 11 sexual harassment claims, made by seven women, against Weinstein.
