If you work in the Central Business District (CBD), you longer need to jostle with crowds or risk an altercation by “chope-ing” a seat with a tissue packet at your favourite nearby hawker centre.
Concierge and delivery service honestbee announced on Nov 14 the launch of a lunchtime hawker food delivery service for consumers within the CBD from 11am to 2pm on weekdays.
Consumers will be able to order from multiple stores within Maxwell Food Centre, Amoy Street Food Centre and Hong Lim Food Centre with delivery fees set at S$3.50 per order.
Orders above S$35 will get free delivery, said the Singapore start-up in a statement.
Consumers will just need to download the honestbee app to place their orders for items from multiple stalls within the same hawker centre.
honestbee Singapore’s head of FOOD Reece Wee said: “Hawker food is a staple of every Singaporean’s life. As a local start-up, we understand that.
“At the same time, we understand the importance of supporting our local hawker community, a segment often overlooked by us in the food delivery business.”
But if you don’t work in the CBD, stay tuned.
honestbee, which also operates in cities such as Taipei, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, has plans to make the service available islandwide at a later date.
