US intelligence officials told President-elect Donald Trump last week that Russian operatives claimed to have compromising personal and financial information on him, according to CNN.
The allegations, put forward by a former British intelligence operative, were part of a two-page synopsis that was appended to the US intelligence agency’s report on “Russian interference in the 2016 election” released last week, CNN reported.
The memos collected by the British intelligence operative and summarized in the two-page, classified appendange seem to show that the Russians had compromising information on both campaigns but only chose to release information that was potentially damaging to Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.
