US and South Korean Marines conducted their annual winter exercises this week in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Pyeongchang will soon host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The drills included winter patrols on foot and on skis, physical conditioning, and team building exercises in the snow – and mostly without shirts.

We put together the best shots taken of the event:

Physical conditioning was a big part of the exercises, and periodically Marines from both countries would be ordered to stop and throw snow in the air while screaming, like these South Korean Marines.

US Marines were also ordered to do the same thing.

Team building exercises were a large part as well. Here, Marines from both countries are mixed together into two squads as part of a competition.

“We have increased both our warfighting capabilities, as well as created lasting friendships that we will take back with us when we head back to the United States,” one Marine told the media.
