ABC, which airs the Academy Awards, announced Wednesday that Chris Rock will be host of the Oscars, which will air Sunday, February 28, 2016.
The comic tweeted this, confirming he is taking the job.
“I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” said Rock in a statement sent out by ABC. “It’s great to be back.”
Rock previously hosted the ceremony in 2005.
This is on the heel’s of last year’s ceremony, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, being criticized for having a lack in diversity and was the lowest rated in six years.
