GOT writer George R. R. Martin tweets photo with Quentin Tarantino in Kuching

It seems legendary novelist George R.R. Martin and film maker Quentin Tarantino paid a visit to Kuching, Malaysia, together.

And for Game of Thrones and Pulp Fiction fans in Malaysia, there can be no better combination than this.

Martin, who wrote A Song of Ice and Fire on which the hit HBO series is based, tweeted a photo of himself with Tarantino on the Sarawak River Cruise in Kuching on Thursday (Aug 24).

With the Kuching waterfront as backdrop, Tarantino and Martin smiled while raising their drinks for the photo.

Martin said in his post: “Just two guys who love movies. (Still hoping we can check out each other’s theaters one of these days) @qtarantino #TBT.”

While he did not specify when the photo was taken, the tweet’s TBT (throwback Thursday) hashtag implied that it was taken on an earlier date.

Fans were naturally thrilled to see the photo, and it has since been re-tweeted over 5,700 times.

In another tweet on Aug 25, Martin told followers he was back home in the US after a long trip.

While he revealed via his blog that he was recently in New York, Helsinki and St. Petersburg, he made no mention of any trip to Malaysia.
