Kevin Love’s 2017 hasn’t gotten off to a good start.
Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said Love was going through a bout of food poisoning after leaving midway through the fourth quarter in the Cavaliers’ 90-86 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Love lost 10 pounds from some bad sea bass.
Love played 24 minutes Monday night before exiting the game, scoring 12 points and pulling in 11 rebounds, albeit on 5-of-19 shooting.
Lue said after the game that a Cavs athletic trainer told him Love “had lost 10 pounds and he was throwing up and whatever else I can’t say.”

Love is in the midst of his best season with the Cavs, averaging nearly 22 points and 11 rebounds a game while shooting 45% from the field and 39% from 3-point range.
Love is listed as day-to-day and it’s unclear whether he’ll return for the Cavaliers’ Thursday game.
