A chilling photo from President Donald Trump’s trip to Las Vegas on Wednesday showed Air Force One flying past the broken windows on the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino that a gunman fired from days earlier.
The photo, taken by Reuters photographer Mike Blake, showed the president’s plane in the air shortly after taking off from Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport, which is parallel to the Mandalay Bay.
Trump visited Las Vegas to meet with victims and first responders from Sunday night’s shooting, the deadliest in modern US history. Fifty-nine people were killed and more than 500 were injured when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock began shooting from his hotel room on the 32nd floor into the crowd at a country music festival across the street.
Paddock killed himself as police were closing in on his hotel room. Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive.
