The bubble milk that took over Instagram in Taiwan and Hong Kong is coming to Singapore

A Taiwanese drink brand famous for its stripey brown sugar bubble milk drink is making its way to Singapore this November.

Tiger Sugar, which hails from Taichung, Taiwan, is so popular that the minimum waiting time to buy a drink at its Taiwan and Hong Kong outlets is said to be at least one hour.

Bubble tea aficionados in Singapore have probably already made plans to queue up at the brand’s first Singapore store, after it announced a shop will be opened in the City Hall area next month.

Tiger Sugar’s announcement comes at a time when the bubble tea craze is at an all-time high. In the past year, no less than 10 bubble tea brands have taken advantage of the buzz in Singapore by setting up shop here. Some of these include Gong Cha, Playmade, Bobii Frutii, Hollin, TP Tea, TaiGai, Supertea, Teafolia, Sharetea and the upcoming Hey Tea at Ion.

A simple search on Instagram will show you just how popular the brown sugar bubble milk craze has gotten across Asia. And while Tiger Sugar is not the only brand that has taken advantage of 2018’s social media trends, it’s definitely one of the most recognisable brands on Instagram feeds.

Now, we just have to wait and see what the next big bubble tea brand to come to Singapore will be. The Alley or Yifang perhaps?
